# Privacy Policy

What Arrow Puzzle stores, why it stores it, and how to ask for a copy or deletion.

This policy explains how Arrow Puzzle (“the game”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you visit **arrowpuzzle.space** and play. It covers the game itself, the anonymous session used for saves and leaderboards, and the third-party services that keep the site online. It does not cover other sites you reach from a link.

The short version: you can play without an account. We store the progress needed to keep your campaign and daily streaks, keep verified scores on leaderboards, and use a small number of service providers to run the site. You can ask us for a copy or deletion at [contact@arrowpuzzle.space](mailto:contact@arrowpuzzle.space).

## 1. Information we collect

### Game progress and saves

Campaign progress, stars, theme progress and daily results are stored in your browser's local storage. When an anonymous session is available, the game also tries to back up the save to our server. Clearing site data or losing the session cookie may make the backup inaccessible. A save contains level identifiers, star counts, completed positions and timestamps. It does not contain your name or email address.

### Anonymous session

On your first visit the game may create an anonymous player session. This uses a session cookie and a generated user ID. The cookie is first-party and is used to attach saves, daily attempts and leaderboard entries to the same player. It is not used to identify you personally, and we do not ask for an email address to play.

### Daily attempts, replays and leaderboards

When you play a daily puzzle, we record the puzzle revision, your moves, the elapsed time, and a replay of the solve. The replay is checked on the server to confirm that the solve was real before a score appears on a leaderboard. Leaderboard entries show a generated anonymous display name and a generated avatar, not your identity. Daily and weekly results are kept so the boards and progress history remain consistent.

### Technical information

Like most websites, our hosting and proxy providers process request data such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. This is used to deliver the site, prevent abuse and diagnose errors. We do not use this data to build a profile of you.

### Analytics and advertising

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand page visits and how the game is used. Google Analytics may use cookies and collect browser, device and usage information. We use the resulting reports to improve the site, not to identify individual players.

The site may display advertising through Google AdSense to keep the game free. When ads are enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including personalised ads where permitted. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising in [Google Ads Settings](https://adssettings.google.com), or manage cookies in your browser. Where required by law, we ask for consent before non-essential advertising cookies are set. The play screen on mobile is kept free of ads.

## 2. Cookies and local storage

Essential cookies are needed for saves and leaderboards to work. You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser, but progress tied to that storage may be lost.

## 3. Why we use this information

- **To run the game:** load puzzles, keep progress, restore saves and show your results.
- **To verify daily scores:** check replays before adding scores to the daily leaderboard and detect automated or impossible solves.
- **To keep the site stable and safe:** diagnose errors, rate-limit abuse and protect the service.
- **To improve the game:** understand which pages and puzzle types are used, in aggregate.
- **To fund the site:** display advertising if enabled, with consent where required.

Where data protection law uses “legal bases”, we rely on our legitimate interests in running and improving a free puzzle game, on the performance of the service you ask for when you play, and on consent for non-essential cookies and personalised advertising where consent is required.

## 4. Sharing

We share only what is needed with service providers that host and operate the site, including cloud hosting and database providers, the game backend, analytics providers and advertising partners. These providers process data under their own terms and, where required, data processing agreements. We do not sell personal information.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of players or the service, or as part of a transfer of the project. Leaderboard entries are public by design: a generated display name, avatar, score, level and verification status.

## 5. Retention

Anonymous sessions last up to 180 days and are renewed at most once a day while you play. Saves and leaderboard entries are kept while the service needs them; verified leaderboard entries may be kept indefinitely so historical boards remain stable. Server request logs are kept for a short operational period. Local storage stays on your device until you clear it.

## 6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your information, and to data portability. Because the game uses an anonymous ID, we may need additional information to locate your data. Email [contact@arrowpuzzle.space](mailto:contact@arrowpuzzle.space) with “Privacy” in the subject line. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

You can clear local game data through your browser settings, but doing so may make your progress inaccessible.

## 7. Children

The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

## 8. International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

## 9. Changes

We may update this policy when the game or the law changes. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version. Material changes will be announced on the site where practical.
